October 4, 2021
Dear Members and Friends of First Church,
Sunday, October 24, is our congregation’s Consecration Sunday. I urge you to plan to attend the Sunday morning worship in person or online that day. Mr. Steve Seymour (see his resume here), a layperson at St. Mary’s Lutheran Church and a lifelong Kenoshan will be our guest preacher at both the 8 am and 10:30 am worship services. The virtual service will be online at 10:30 am.
This spiritual-growth-oriented process is designed to enrich our biblical understanding of Christian stewardship and discipleship. Rather than focusing on the need of the church to receive, the experience concentrates on the need of the giver to give for his or her own spiritual development.
We believe that you are concerned enough to attend on Consecration Sunday and make your financial commitment as an act of worship in the church sanctuary or through our website. Additional instructions will be forthcoming.
As in the past several years as we have used the Consecration Sunday model for our financial stewardship campaign, no one will call on you at your home for a pledge. But we will contact you personally to secure your commitment to attend morning worship on Consecration Sunday.
We encourage you to be in prayer for the ministry of First Church in these uncertain days and as we approach 2022.
In Christ’s Service,
Deb Barrientos Paul Huck Rev. Susan A. Patterson-Sumwalt Church Council Chair Finance/Stewardship Chair Senior Pastor
