Juneteenth Day* (June 19 a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans and often observed for celebrating African- American culture.
It's believed to be the oldest African-American holiday with annual celebrations on June 19th dating back to 1866.
Kenosha will observe Juneteenth Day on Saturday, June 18 with a festival and market on the lawn at 52nd Street and 13th Court from 11:00am-6:00pm. Click here for more details. One of our action challenges is to attend a racial equity event. Please consider attending.
